| US COS IN INDIA TO PROMOTE ENERGY TRADE |

As part of the first official trade mission of the new administration under President Barack Obama, 14 American companies are visiting India to explore business opportunities in the solar energy sector in country. India may soon attract huge investments from American companies in the solar energy sector. Fourteen American companies are visiting India to explore business opportunities in solar energy sector in country, as part of the first official trade mission of the new administration of the US President Barack Obama.
"This is Obama Administration's first official trade mission to India and it is on solar energy. Energy is becoming the focal point in the US-India relationship. We are here to understand policy environment and regulatory environment to develop business relationships between India and US companies," minister-counselor for commercial affairs at the US Embassy Carmine D'Aloisio said.
American companies such as Astonfield Renewable Resources Ltd, AES Solar Energy and Applied Materials are already in talks with the policy makers and potential business partners to explore business models for India's solar energy sector. The companies are looking at investment opportunities, transferring technology and export of equipments and services to India. Rajasthan and Gujarat being the target states here.
